As you sail halfway around the world you can discover man-made and natural wonders, encounter stunning wildlife, uncover fascinating historic sites and much more, all before returning to the UK.

After setting sail from Brisbane you’ll call first into Cairns, gateway to tropical rainforest, dense wetlands and the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef; before visiting Darwin, from where you can take a tour to experience a taste of authentic aboriginal life. The incredible diversity of Asia will then await your discovery. You’re sure to be left spellbound by the contrasting sights of Komodo Island – home of the world’s largest lizards – and the energetic, attraction-packed megalopolis of Singapore; while from fabulous Phuket you can visit the iconic Phang Nga Bay and world-famous ‘James Bond Island’. Speaking of Asian icons, there are a plethora to discover in India. During a call into Kochi you could head to Kumbalangi to see the famous Chinese fishing nets; or perhaps take an overland tour to the magical Taj Mahal. You’ll also enjoy a day of delving into India’s European influences in historic Goa; before visiting bustling Mumbai. An overnight stay will afford time to take in modern and traditional highlights such as the Gateway of India and the unique Dhobi Ghat before Arabia appears on the horizon.

You’ll be welcomed to Arabia by the spectacular sight of the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building – in the ultra-modern Emirati city of Dubai, before Black Watch sails on to Oman. You’ll stop at Khasab for the chance to ride a traditional Dhow boat into the beautiful Musandam Fjords; at Muscat, the capital and home of the glorious Sultan Qaboos Mosque and striking Qasr Al Alam Palace; and at Salalah, from where the remarkable Lost City of Ubar is within reach. Another of Arabia’s great ‘lost cities’ awaits your discovery from the Jordanian city of Aqaba too. During an overnight stay you can tour to Petra – one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World – and marvel at the huge, over 2000 year-old sandstone tombs, archways and temples. Finally, as your epic voyage nears its conclusion, Black Watch will make stops at a string of stunning destinations in the Mediterranean. Enjoy a day in Kusadasi, one of Turkey’s best beach resorts and stopping point for tours to the lost city of Ephesus; have chances to explore UNESCO-listed Pompeii on tour from Naples, Italy and take in views from the top of the famous rock in Gibraltar; and visit La Coruña for tours to the magnificent Santiago de Compostela Cathedral.

Highlights of this cruise:

Brisbane, Australia
With its harmonious mix of elegant colonial sandstone structures and modern glass skyscrapers, Brisbane is one of the world's fastest developing cities. Located alongside the beautiful Brisbane River, this friendly, welcoming city has a laid back, vibrant atmosphere and offers an abundance of walks, reserves and barbecue hotspots to enjoy.

Komodo, Indonesia
Tour the Komodo National Park, home to the unique Komodo Dragon – truly exceptional, it’s the world’s largest lizard – as well as dozens of other rare species. The surrounding seas have extensive coral reefs, mangrove swamps and sea-grass beds home to sharks, dolphins, manta rays, sea turtles and whales.

Goa, India
The tiny State of Goa is renowned for its superb beaches and colonial history. Combining the best of Indian and Portuguese culture, Goa is both a classic beach resort and a sightseeing delight, with a mix of scenic beauty and architectural delights, from golden sandy beaches and spice plantations to striking temples and bustling markets.

Khasab, Oman
The small, yet energetic Omani city of Khasab is a melting pot of sights and highlights, from charming old souks and historic castles, to bustling modern markets and a lively harbour. It’s also the gateway to the stunning waterways and islands of the Musandam fjords – the ‘Norway of Arabia’.

Aqaba, Jordan
Aqaba is the starting point for tours to the world-famous stone-city of Petra. Explore massive tombs, which were carved from the sandstone hills more than 2,000 years ago or discover the history of Jordan at the Aqaba Castle, housing a collection of Islamic artefacts.

Beautiful sandy beaches and clear blue waters feature at Turkey’s main holiday resorts.

Dominated by 'the Rock', a towering 1,396 ft sentinel that guards the Straits, Gibraltar is a pretty, British-controlled territory with a distinctly familiar atmosphere. With helmeted policemen and British institutions such as Marks & Spencer, Gibraltar feels like a home from home, a little slice of Great Britain with a glorious Mediterranean climate.

La Coruna, Spain
La Coruna is the capital of the province and a busy seaport situated in the Bay of Coruna.
