Cruise Description

16 Night Cruise sailing from Liverpool roundtrip aboard Black Watch.

With chances to explore beautiful cities; enjoy glorious sunshine on stunning golden-sand beaches; and even experience the excitement of a Formula One Grand Prix, this incredible Mediterranean cruise can be as exhilarating or as relaxing as you wish.

Monaco hosts arguably the most exciting and iconic race in the F1 calendar and during a full-day call into nearby Nice you have the opportunity to experience the thrill of the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix on a simply unforgettable tour. Arriving early on race day morning will ensure you have plenty of time to enjoy the pre-race atmosphere before taking your seat in the stands to watch the world’s greatest drivers push themselves to the limit, racing their 200mph, multi-million pound speed machines through the streets and tunnels of the glamourous principality. If you’re a fan of motorsport, or simply have a ‘need for speed’, this is an experience that is not to be missed.

Not only is this fantastic 16 night sailing a ‘speed-freaks’ dream cruise, it’s also perfect for those looking for a little sunshine and culture too. Before calling into Nice, where you could opt to stroll along the palm-fringed Promenade des Anglais and relax on the gorgeous beaches if you prefer, you’ll visit sunny St Tropez to experience the splendour of the French Riviera to the full. This glamourous resort – made famous by the jet-setters of Hollywood’s ‘golden era’ – boasts a picturesque yacht-filled harbour and a beautiful coastline. You’ll also sail to Spain to take in the historic highlights of Cartagena, including the medieval castle and the Roman amphitheatre; spend a day marvelling at the mountainous heartland of Mallorca from Palma; and discover Gaudi’s architectural wonders, including the magnificent Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona. Black Watch will also call into captivating Cádiz, situated on Spain’s spectacular Andalusian coast; while in Portugal you’ll have a day to take in the delights of the capital, Lisbon.

Highlights of this cruise:

Liverpool, UK
Liverpool - the home of The Beatles - is one of Britain's most iconic and interesting cities.

Cartagena’s Old Town is protected by the city walls. There’s a natural harbour that is watched over by the medieval Castillio de la Concepcion, from which there are superb views. Many of the buildings from Roman Cartagena have disappeared, but some important sites remain, including the amphitheatre dating from around 100BC.

Palma, Mallorca
Palma is the cosmopolitan capital of Mallorca, the most popular of the Balearic Islands (if not the entire Mediterranean)

Barcelona - Spain's cosmopolitan second city - overflows with interest and its mood is infused with a vibrant Catalan spirit and heritage.

St Tropez, France
St Tropez has been a holiday hotspot since the 1950s, when the iconic film ‘And God Created Women’ – starring Bridget Bardot – made this pretty fishing town a ‘must-visit’ for those in the ‘jet-set’. The town feels just as glamourous today; high-end shops, trendy cafés, exclusive restaurants and sun-kissed beaches continue to attract the rich and famous from around the world.

Known as the “Queen of the Riviera”, Nice is beautiful sun-kissed city that attracts visitors from around the globe.

Cadiz, Spain
Cadiz - one of Western Europe's most ancient cities - hugs Andalusia’s sunlit Atlantic coast and is characterised by palm trees, lookout towers and weathered old buildings. Historic and pretty, the city centre is a joy to explore with a fascinating Old Town district containing huge stone walls from the 1500s and a beautifully carved cathedral.
