Cruise Description

10 Night Cruise sailing from Dover roundtrip aboard Boudicca.

This cultural 10-night cruise aboard Boudicca is sure to be an immersive and rewarding experience from the moment you embark, featuring hours of daytime scenic cruising along some of Germany’s stunning, most highly-rated waterways and calls into five alluring destinations.

Your German jaunt begins with a cruise along the picturesque River Elbe, offering unspoilt views of beautiful countryside as you sail towards the heart of Hanseatic Hamburg. Here you can discover landmarks such as the towering neo-Renaissance style Rathaus and St Michael’s Church; wander the pretty squares; and sample the vibrant atmosphere of the bustling HafenCity district. There’s a chance to see the striking modern cityscape from a different perspective during a boat ride on the Alster Lake too. You'll then head to Kiel, where highlights include the Laboe Naval Memorial, Holstenstraße – one of Germany’s longest shopping streets – and the 13th century Nikolaikirche. Boudicca’s next stop is Travemünde, your starting point for boat tours to UNESCO-listed Lübeck. Take the short journey to this historic city – once a leading member of the Hanseatic League – and you won’t be disappointed by the superb architecture on display and delicious beer available in the friendly pubs.

Similarly, the delightful beach resort of Warnemünde is your gateway to another of Germany’s most enchanting historic cities, Rostock. A boat trip upstream on the River Warnow will take you to Rostock, where you can admire landmarks such as the beautiful City Hall and St Mary’s Church, pick up souvenirs at the market, and even visit a local microbrewery to sample a selection of traditional German brews. You’ll then enjoy a memorable navigation the narrow Kiel Canal and sail the winding River Weser into Bremen – a route your ship has been given special permission to take. Make the most of your overnight stay to explore the city to the full on foot, taking in an abundance of attractions including the UNESCO-listed Market Square, home to the 15th century Town Hall and several stunning gothic-style structures; the contrasting delights of the medieval Schnoor and modern Überseestadt districts; and much more.

Highlights of this cruise:

Dover, UK
Home of the famous White Cliffs, Dover is one of England's most iconic towns.

There's water everywhere here in Germany's principal port - from the Alster Lake to a web of canals and waterways spanned by 1,000 bridges.

Travemünde (Travemunde), Germany
Beautiful and historic Travemünde is a short journey from the centre of this magnificent Lübeck, the former capital of the Hanseatic League.

Set on the River Weser, Bremen has beautiful examples of old Hanseatic Gothic architecture in the ‘Marktplatz’ and narrow timber buildings in the ‘Schnoor’ quarter – the oldest part of the city.
