Cruise Description

57 Night Cruise departing from Sydney to Southampton onboard Black Watch.

Step on board Black Watch in Sydney and embark on an incredible cruise back to the UK, taking in a string of spectacular destinations in Australia, Asia, Africa and Mediterranean Europe en route.

After marvelling at Sydney's icons, including the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, you'll discover a wealth of Australia's most incredible sights, highlights and experiences. A boat tour along the Brisbane River is the best way to see the exquisite cityscape of Brisbane before sailing on to Hamilton Island, one of 74 stunning Whitsunday Islands. From here you can head to the postcard-perfect Whitehaven Beach or, for a simply unforgettable experience, tour to the UNESCO-listed Great Barrier Reef and snorkel on of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Calling into Darwin – your final call 'Down Under – offers you the chance to experience the history and culture of the Tiwi people on a tour to a modern Aboriginal community. The amazing sights of Asia will then await discovery. At Komodo Island you can step ashore and explore the unspoilt natural habitat of the world’s largest lizard; while in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur there will be time to take in all the man-made wonders, from soaring skyscrapers such as the Petronas Towers to a number of impressive temples. In Burma, make the most of a two-night stop at the port of Thilawa to marvel at the golden spires of the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda; or join an overland tour to the spiritual city of Bagan where extraordinary sights will unfold before your eyes.

Then it’s on to India, where the highlights of two contrasting destinations await. Experience the charm of Cochin, home to famous Chinese cantilevered fishing nets and the British Commonwealth’s oldest synagogue; then take in the sights of vibrant Mumbai. Feel like you’re part of ‘Bollywood’ as you explore the bustling bazaars, and don’t miss the Victoria Railway Terminus and the Gandhi Museum. A call into Aqaba in Jordan follows, offering you the chance to tour to the ‘Lost City’ of Petra before sailing onwards to Egypt. Enjoy the sunshine at the popular beach resort of Sharm el Sheikh; and visit Alexandria – gateway to the incredible Pyramids of Giza – after cruising the Suez Canal. Many of the Mediterranean’s most celebrated landmarks are yours to tick off your ‘must-visit’ list next, including the ancient city of Ephesus on a tour from Kusadasi; and the awe-inspiring acropolis of Athens. In Italy, Rome’s world-famous Colosseum and the Leaning Tower of Pisa are just two of the unmissable sights to discover from Civitavecchia and Livorno, before Black Watch finally calls into Malaga, Spain.
