Cruise Overview:

Admire the Algarve’s beautiful coastline and experience the best of Andalusia on this relaxing late autumn cruise aboard Braemar. Visit alluring destinations in these breathtaking regions and explore a few of Spain and Portugal’s prettiest cities whilst enjoying almost two weeks away from it all.

The ship will call first into Lisbon, the cultural Portuguese capital. Spread out over seven hills on the north bank of the River Tagus, Lisbon is a rewarding city to explore with its impressive museums and architectural wonders. Highlights include Carmo Archaeological Museum, the imposing Belém Tower and the Jeronimos Monastery. Up next is Portimão, situated on the gorgeous Algarve coast. The stunning waterfront is perfect for a relaxing stroll, while within the delightful town centre there are shops and restaurants galore. From the very south of Portugal Braemar will sail onwards to Spain and dock in the heart of stunning Seville. With a full day to explore this Andalusian gem there will be time to take in the sights, including Plaza de España, Alcázar Palace and the UNESCO-listed gothic style cathedral; sample delicious tapas; and perhaps catch a traditional Flamenco performance too.

A relaxing morning of scenic cruising along the winding, size-restricted Guadalquivir River follows before the Andalusian adventure ends in Malaga. Marvel at the Moorish-style structures here, including the iconic Alcazaba Fortress; learn about the life and works of Pablo Picasso – a Malaga native – at the fantastic Picasso Museum; or take a tour to Grenada and see the striking Alhambra Palace during yet another full-day stay. The ship will then continue on to the shores of Northern Morocco, where Ceuta awaits. This delightful Spanish enclave offers diverse culture, fantastic architecture, delicious food and natural beauty in abundance. Finally, before sailing back to Southampton, Braemar will call into Vigo. While this historic city is a delight in its own right, boasting inspiring museums and charming plazas, it is also a gateway to the spectacular Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. This remarkable UNESCO-listed architectural marvel is simply not to be missed.
