Cruise Description

7 Night Cruise sailing from Southampton roundtrip aboard Braemar.

Enjoy relaxing journeys along wonderful waterways in Belgium and the Netherlands, and experience an in-depth exploration of some of Europe’s finest cities on this engrossing 7-night cultural cruise aboard Braemar.

Look out for the Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe Nature Reserve – which is a haven for a variety of birds – as you sail the fascinating Western Scheldt River to Antwerp. Picturesque parks and gardens; quaint cobbled streets lined with fine architecture; world-famous diamond and chocolate shops; and the medieval Cathedral of our Lady – these are just a selection of highlights to discover during your overnight stay here. Alternatively join a tour to admire the sights of beautiful Brussels, including the unusual Atomium and Grand Place. Next you’ll head into Ghent via the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal. In this charming city you can visit some of Belgium’s most interesting museums; and marvel at grand gothic structures such as St. Bavo’s Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts. Don’t miss the imposing, UNESCO-listed Belfry, which at 91 metres-high is Belgium’s tallest.

Sailing north to the Netherlands, you’ll enjoy views of the iconic Erasmusbrug Bridge and Rotterdam’s soaring skyline as you glide into port via the Nieuwe Mass. Once ashore in the Netherlands’ stylish second city, discover a plethora of fantastic museums and take in the unique architectural delights; from the innovative 1970’s Cube Houses to the magnificently modern Markthal. The UNESCO-listed Windmills of Kinderdijk are just a short distance Rotterdam and it is well-worth making the journey to see these Dutch icons. Finally Braemar will call into Amsterdam after an early morning cruise along the picturesque Nordzeekanaal. A full-day in the vibrant Dutch capital allows you plenty of time to explore at your leisure and discover must-visit attractions such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frankhuis. For a unique view of the city, join a canal cruise and let your guide show you the sights as you simply sit back and relax.
