Cruise Description

14 Night Cruise sailing from Cape Town roundtrip aboard Boudicca.

Cruise the beautiful coastline of South Africa from Cape Town aboard Boudicca and step ashore at a string of incredible destinations to go in search of the country’s most iconic wildlife and unspoilt natural landscapes.

A day at sea will ensure a relaxing start to your exotic holiday, allowing you time to familiarise yourself with the ship and get to know your fellow guests as you sail to Port Elizabeth. Once docked, you’ll have two-full days to indulge in an ultimate safari experience. You could spot the ‘Big Five’ at the Kariega or Lalibela Game Reserves; or perhaps watch hundreds of elephants, Cape buffalo and much more in their natural habitat on a 4x4 adventure through Addo Elephant Park. An overnight in Richards Bay follows, with the chance to encounter even more African wildlife, such as rare white rhinos, at Hluhluwe Game Reserve. For a unique cultural experience, join a tour to DumaZulu for a fascinating insight into the Zulu Kingdom’s way of life.

The next two days will be spent docked in Durban, the gateway to the traditional Zulu villages and spectacular landscapes of the famous Valley of a Thousand Hills. The city is also perfectly placed for those wishing to visit Tala Game Reserve or the UNESCO-listed iSimangaliso Wetland Park – home to a diverse range of wildlife including crocodiles, African elephants, turtles and even humpback whales. An abundance of South Africa’s lesser-known fauna await you from Mossel Bay, the next port of call. See over 2,500 Cape fur seals on a boat trip to nearby Seal Island; or tour to Oudtshoorn, ‘the ostrich capital of the world’. Your exotic cruise then concludes back in Cape Town, where there’s plenty to tick-off your ‘must-see’ list before heading home. From the stunning scenery at Cape Point and the penguins of Boulders Beach to iconic Table Mountain, there’s much to discover during almost three days in the ‘Mother City’. Spending one of your evenings watching the sunset over delicious oysters and fine wines at the top of Signal Hill is highly recommended.
